4th of July

Happy 4th of July!
We headed out early for the Alameda parade. After staking out our spot along the route, we had breakfast and then Phil took Alex to his designated line up spot. Alex is in the parade this year!
Just before the parade started, a low-flying helicopter flying the American flag buzzed the route.
Everyone loves the dancing horses.

Alex rode his scooter with his kung fu school. Some of the older students performed some skills, and the younger kids rode bikes, scooters, or skateboards. The parade is 3 miles long, add on walking to the line up spot, and the walk from lining up to the start, and it is a long way. We told Alex that he could drop out of the parade when he got to where we were sitting. He was definitely worn out, but he had a fun time!

Zachary was happy to have company to watch the end of the parade!
