Zoo Night

We spent the evening at the zoo, getting some behind the scenes looks. Guess what we tried first?The train ride!

All of the chimpanzees were out and hamming it up, climbing and talking. We've never seen them so active. I think Zachary would have been happy to stay there watching them all night.
Next up, the petting area. The goats seemed to be getting a bit tired and were wandering into the barn. That is until one of the keepers threw out this treat ball. There was a stampede to get to the treats that were falling out of it. This guy was definitely the alpha goat.

In the main courtyard, there was a steel drum band. Zachary was dancing and laughing, and Alex was trying to act like he wasn't dancing, but he was. (You haven't lived until you've heard "Single Ladies" on the steel drum.) The band had a bunch of shakers and drum sticks for the kids to join in. Zachary and Alex got in on the last song.
