Tonight was the Blood Moon Eclipse. Before bed, I took Alex and Zachy for a walk to try to get away from the trees and buildings blocking our view of the big event. Unfortunately, it was clouds blocking our view, so they didn't get to see any of the eclipse. Of course after they had been asleep for a while the sky cleared up. Night photography is not something I excel at, but here are some obligatory eclipse photos!

Eat Real
We went to Jack London Square in Oakland today to attend the Eat Real Festival. We had some different food samples, ate fresh ice cream and enjoyed these potato chip skewers! Mady looks sad because she didn't get to hold one too, but she did get to them!

Wallaroo!
Mady and I spent some time at the zoo today. The train ride to the Australian Outback provided excellent views of the wallaroos. This is definitely the best look we've had of these cute animals.
Pretty soon this big girl won't want/need me to ride the carousel with her.

Star Student
Alex has been working on this project for school for the last two weeks. It is due tomorrow and it looks amazing!
For the Reader's Choice section, Alex had the idea to add a picture of him reading his book choice. What a great idea Alex!
The final project was a little bit different. When we got to school, we found out that there couldn't be 3D items on the poster. We carefully took those off and after school I brought some flat decorations for Alex to replace them with.

1st Day of Preschool
Today was Mady's first day of preschool!
She has been waiting for this since the boys' school started.
As I was taking pictures of her at school, she suddenly started walking away and said "bye bye mama. Have good day!" I asked her if I could take one more picture of her at her desk and fortunately she let me.
Such an independent girl, always ready to go!

Carpenter
We are having a custom cabinet installed this week, and we needed to remove the 1/4 round moulding from the baseboards. Luckily we had Handygirl Mady and a crowbar to take care of this for us.
